Our days are filled with so much activity, but how much of this is directed towards your own personal growth and the manifestation of your dreams? Some days we can get so much done, but accomplish very little or nothing at all. This is because our actions are not often infused with purpose and have no relevance in taking us towards our dreams and goals. These actions act as ”fluff” to fill the day and make us feel busy.
Respect Your Higher Self
Every moment you spend taking steps towards fulfilling your dreams and achieving your goals is an investment in yourself and is in honour of your higher purpose. If we spend our days only satisfying the needs of others then we are not taking any steps towards achieving our true dreams. The days become full in content but empty in growth and fulfilment.
Your time is valuable, you may be working a full-time job right now, however, there is always an opportunity to create time for the things that really matter to you. If you’re spending your life feeding someone else’s dream just so you can pay the bills and perpetuate your existence, are you really fulfilling and respecting your higher purpose? You were put on this Earth for a reason, you have a gift, find out what it is and get creative with how you can share it with the world.
Exercise, Cook and Enjoy Down Time
Investing in your physical health is fundamental to living a successful life. What importance does anything have if your body is not being taken care of? Take time to Exercise. Better your health and rid your body of poisons and toxins.
Take the time to prepare nourishing food for yourself. Your experience of life is largely influenced by what you put into your body. Saying you don’t have time to cook is like saying you don’t have time to love yourself. Eating nourishing and healthy foods can help stabilise your moods and will definitely increase the quality of your life. Ditch the microwave meals and create some time to respect your body and mind with love filled meals.
If you’re tired, take a nap. There have been times where taking a 5 minute nap has transformed my mental state and energy levels. I guarantee taking time to meditate or taking a nap when you are feeling overworked will surprise you in it’s power.
Learn to Prioritise
As mentioned in some of the previous posts, connect with your higher purpose in life and think of one thing you can do today that will help move you towards achieving your dreams. What’s one thing that you can do? It could be for your relationships, for your health, for your business, or some other focus.
Find one thing that will propel you forwards today and make it your absolute priority. Focus on this task, remove distraction, put your phone on flight mode or leave it in another room, sign out of Facebook, get it done and make yourself proud. A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. Take one step forward today and live by this principle consistently. You will be surprised at how much you can grow and accomplish.
You deserve to fulfil your dreams.
Say ‘NO!’ To Procrastination
You don’t have to say no so aggressively, however saying yes all the time is what fills our day with useless activity. We have to say NO to procrastination. Disregard thoughts like ”I have to do this first” or ”I don’t have time for that”. Don’t allow your mind to trick you into procrastination. Acknowledge the thoughts and continue to be proactive. Words like ‘have’ and ‘need’ are massively misused. Sometimes it’s better to kindly say no to the demands and requests of others.
The key is to respond rather than to react. Next time somebody asks if you can do something for them take a deep breath through the nose and feel your response. Take a moment to be present and then honour yourself and the other person with honesty. Take time to respond rather than instantly reacting with an answer. Our minds have been conditioned to act out of haste and urgency.
People respect honesty.
Remember, investing time in your health, in you dreams, in your interests and in your relationships is important. You deserve to spend time on what is most important to you. It takes a level of self-respect to allow oneself to spend time on these things.
Feed your dreams.
Give to yourself.
